Best Weight Loss Tip Ever

June 8, 2009

I’m not implying that any of YOU need to lose weight but if you ever need some inspiration to keep your eye on the ball and your ass in gear, just put on your bathing suit and look in the mirror. This is especially important if you’re putting on your bathing suit for the first time since it got warm. The impact will be much greater. But possibly more depressing, too. Consider yourself warned.

Then? Repeat EVERY SINGLE DAY so you never, ever become complacent or forget that you have NOT reached your goal…mostly because you sit in front of your computer all day. Ahem.

It’s funny you should mention this. About 2 weeks ago it occurred to me that summer is quickly approaching us. I did exactly what you mentioned above and I was less then pleased. O_o

I signed us up for parent-tot swim lessons at the end of the month. I’ll be about 34 weeks pregnant. Can we say “ugh”…

That’s kind of how it happened here. I took my daughter to the pool to do some swimming refresher lessons before camp and HELLO? My bathing suits (yes, I tried on ALL of them) don’t fit like they did last year. But you? Are bringing life into the world! You have the best excuse ever :)

Ugh- I don’t even need to put it on. Just looking at it in my drawer will suffice.

I would have preferred that method but apprently I’m so delusional I require daily humiliation.

Oh God, I did this. Oh, it works. Oh.

You don’t even need to do the bathing suit thing. Just try on cycling nix and jerseys. Or just try to order them on the internet, and so need to wrap a tape measure around your waist and hips and then find that you can’t fit into a Women’s Large even. Which makes you even more depressed because the fact that you are buying cycling nix means you actually DO do some exercise, so wtf?, how is it that you are still so blah? Self loathing, I haz it too.

Swimming suits. Sigh. Not gonna do it.

I am so with you on this one.

In my case putting on any of the shorts I own seems to work too.

Are you trying to make women across America break their mirrors? Geez.

Wonderful tip. I did this a couple of weeks ago and it was a super motivator. Thanks.

  15. Dana on June 12, 2009 at 9:16 pm

okay, so I suck because I just realized your not blogging at Caffeinatrix right now. I barely got my large pregnant ass over there.

But I’m glad I came here, because I just bought a maternity swimsuit (Dawson is all about the swimming this summer, and insists I go in the pool with him…ugh) and realized, my ass is huge, but that’s okay. :)

as soon as this baby arrives, I’ll be using this trick like mad.

I put on my bathing suit in April and have been doing P90x ever since. Well, I have missed a few days in the past week or so b/c we’ve been EXTREMELY busy. But..yeah..that works.
