Secrets & Lies

As I stand on the precipice of yet another Mother’s Day, I struggle with what direction I want to take in writing this post.

Do I write about my mom again and how I feel about Mother’s Day when she’s been gone for 27 years? I fear there’s not much new to say on that topic and I really hate to be redundant (except when discussing those trashy, skanky thong-clad dolls, of course) so maybe I’ll just link to last years Mother’s Day post and leave it up to you as to whether you want to read it.

Or I could skip the Mother’s Day thing altogether and write about how this past week my six year old has started to ask questions about my origins; questions that only have complicated answers that I’m not sure I can simplify for her. The truth is, I’ve grappled with how to discuss my personal and familial history for a long time. I just didn’t think she’d start probing into all of it so soon.

I Want to Draw Naughty Pictures. Is That Bad?

Does it mean I’m immature if I think this game sounds really fun? It’s like Pictionary but…a little different.

I know what you’re thinking.

How can she write about those hideous Bratz dolls*** and how they’re the bain of her existence and then write favorably about this…this PERVERSION of a perfectly good game?

Well…I’m a grown-up so grown-up things are okay for ME.

Anyhoo…I’m seriously considering buying it and making some BlogHer betches (and Hot Karl) play it with me after many cocktails!

Free Frump and Fug Wear!

I’ve recently become aware of this little tidbit about weight loss:

If you don’t sleep enough (like me) it ain’t comin’ off. Lack of quality sleep apparently messes with your metabolism.

I’m sure I’m the last person on the planet to know this but still…it would explain why, despite my commitment to daily exercise and a decent diet, that I haven’t been able to drop those last ten lbs. of baby weight.

This is the ten lbs. that is keeping me out of my beloved pre-preg clothes and making me dress like a… like a mom, but worse!!! It just won’t budge and I’m OVER IT.
