The REAL Simple Life

Okay, I have to take a break from feeling sorry for myself for having such a cruddy week and try to suppress my gleeful giggles lest I wake my sleeping husband.

Why? Because I’m taking an obscene amount of pleasure in the fact that Paris Hilton is going to jail for 45 whole days. PINCH ME!

Frankly? I’m most looking forward to what I hope will be a nice, peaceful respite from seeing her and her crotch all over the place.

The only thing better than Paris going to jail is Paris and Joe Francis of Girls Gone Wild being incarcerated simultaneously!

Ahhh…the world seems brighter and cleaner already.

*contented sigh*

I am so with you one this. I don’t know why I am taking so much pleasure in it, but I am. And Joe Francis? I so hope he has been traded to a guy named Bubba for a pack of smokes by now. Scum.

    Very funny post.

I’m just afraid that it won’t be ‘real’ jail. lol.

It will be so interesting to read her *book* about when she had to do hard time.
I’m sure it will be *hot*
    lmao.

I am basking in this celebrity gossip goop.

Hah! Maybe we should put Paris Hilton, Nicole Ritchie, Lindsay Lohan, and Jessica Simpson all in the same cell? They’ll probably kill one another given enough time, and my life wouldn’t be the worse for it.

You crack me up. Yes .. the world seems much cleaner already :)

I’m just waiting for them to announce, “The Convict Life: Paris in Prison”

45 days with no Paris?? It sounds too good to be true!!

Well, I can’t say that I don’t feel some small sense of satisfaction that she has to suffer the consequences of her actions.

However, did you know, that in California (I’m not sure about other states.) you can “upgrade” your jail accommodations? Yes indeedy, you can pay a fee to be housed in a different facility, have better meals and visitors?

    Yes, it is true:

    For $82 a Day…

I have to admit to feeling a sense of satisfaction that Ms. Hilton will have to suffer the consequences of her choices. But there are two things which bother me:

    1) Any break we are given in the news cycle by her being indisposed for 45 days is going to be offset by the frenzy when she gets out. Blech!

    2) In California, there are several jail facilities which offer better accommodations (hardly 5 star, but still) for just around $100 per day. Yes. It’s true. I’m sure Ms. Hilton’s lawyers are going to hook her up.

I feel a little guilty about how cheery this made me.

I put up a google feed for y’all. It is on the right hand side at the top. It took YOU complaining to get me to do it. Smooches.

No kidding!!! Even though I think they *are* actually probably sticking it to her a bit too much just because she is Paris Hilton and - of course - she will get out of it (also because she is Paris Hilton) … I TOTALLY did a happy dance when I read the news.

I thought for sure she’d wiggle herself out of this one. Should be interesting to hear her take on life on the inside, huh?

I am SO glad that she got some cell time. And WHY is she famous again?

  14. By wordgirl on May 5, 2007

Yes…it’s a sweet time when such a spoiled and useless individual has to face some real consequences. Time for your body cavity search, Miss Hilton!

The judge ordered her to go to real jail, not one of our special rich-people jails here in CA

Yeah, I was actually rejoicing when I saw this as the headline story on CNN.com no less.

It’s gonna be hard in there for the little angel, without her coke and pills and all.

  18. By CG on May 5, 2007

I am totally with you. But like others have said, is it going to be real jail or Martha Stewart jail?

  19. By RWA on May 6, 2007

It was good to hear the judge say it would be “real” jail and not an alternative. They were showing on the news last night what a cell and a typical “meal” looked like at this jail.

I found it amusing that they said her mother got mad at the prosecutor after court was finished, and muttered something about paying an outrageous amount of money and her daughter still going to jail.

    Oh well.

I just hope that she has to serve all 45 days. Usually celebrities (I use that word liberally in her case) get off easier.

  21. By Fenicle on May 6, 2007

AMEN! Although I saw today that she will maybe spend less than a day due to overcrowding! Figures.

  22. By Momazing Mom on May 6, 2007

Can I just say AMEN SISTA!!!! I just couldn’t resist the chance to comment here! I have never been a Paris Hilton fan and I’m so tired of hearing about her and her stupidity. I don’t know if she really is stupid or not but she plays the part really well. Anyway, thanks for the chance to be heard! LOL. PS. I love your blog!

I’m sure she’ll find some way to have her butler and chef take care of all her needs . . .

  24. By Mom101 on May 7, 2007

I want to see the photos of her doing real labor there - not the kind where her tv producers do it for her and then plop her in the middle of the set for her photo op.

    Oh, the schadenfreude…it is goot.

YES! And all I can say is “take that beotch.”

    :)

Perhaps she can take a few tips from Martha and do it Paris style. She can teach the inmates how to slutify their uniforms and have a class on posing for sex tapes. Maybe one of them can knit her a thong.

So glad I’m not the only one feeling that way.

  28. By Mary-LUE on May 7, 2007

Well, I typed this comment and it didn’t seem to show up. So I typed in another one and IT didn’t seem to show up. And now, I look a little foolish for having two separate comments, one after the other, saying the same thing but obviously NOT an accidental two-fer. Oh bother!

Sometimes there is justice in the universe! (Tho’ Paris’ attorneys have appealed!)

It’s the links. I have Wordpress set up to moderate any post with links because of spam. Sorry!

I’m surprised everyone is so pleased with Paris’ incarceration…she contributed so much to society. She had a pulse. She respirated. She grew fingernails.

  32. By Tantowi on May 14, 2007

    Lesson from jail:
    -Everybody makes mistakes
-Remember that other inmates are not that different from you
-Try to find something that will help pass the time

  33. By kittenpie on May 15, 2007

I am really pleased with too, although I must say, I’m sure she’ll spend her time somewhere pretty cushy.
