Five Facts
I beg your indulgence. P and I are both sick with terrible colds and my head is sooo heavy and snot-laden that I’m actually grateful to have been tagged by Spig for this meme. You understand, don’t you?
Five (slightly odd) Facts About Me
1: I love marching bands. Whenever I hear one in person, the hair on my arms stands up and I get goosebumps.
2: I love Tiny Size Chiclets. I’ll buy five packs at a time and eat them all in one sitting.
3: I always cry while watching the Olympics; during the opening & closing ceremonies, when people win, when people lose…
4: I stay up ridiculously late and take a nap every morning. I’ve had my days and nights mixed up for as long as I can remember. Most nights I get a second wind around 10 or 11pm and then I don’t want to go to bed.
5: I floss my teeth every night no matter what. I’ve seen what gum disease can to your grill…
I’m going to tag some chicas from Props and Pans –> Emily, Gidget, Mary, Canape and Nicole please consider yourselves tagged for this Five Facts About Me meme. If you hate memes, feel free to skip. If I didn’t tag you and you want to be tagged, you can pretend that I did.

Number 3?! Me too. K makes fun of me, pretends to cry and wimpers “the triumph of the human spirit!!!” but I totally deserve the teasing because it’s so true.
Hubby loves marching bands too. Must be why he attended The Ohio State University (!).
I also cry during the Olympics. The US National Anthem is sure to set me off as well.
I’m also a early morning/late night person. I love my afternoon naps.
And I know you are telling the truth on the staying up late. An e-mail at 2 something in the morning? Lordy, woman, go to bed already!
I’m going to quit feeling guilty about my naps now!
On Fridays during the summer, we can mosey on over to the practice field and hear the Michigan Marching Band. It is pretty frickin’ cool.
Chez Avery Lane, we like ourselves a good marching band too. But since we’re down yonder in the Deep South, give us the Golllllden Band from Tiiiigerland any old day.
Okay, I’m stupid. I misread your first item to be “whenever I hear marching bands in prison . . . ” and I’m thinking. Prison? Who’s in prison? She can’t be in prison. Like that would totally be a lot more interesting than liking marching bands. And then I figured it out. D’uh. But prison would have been interesting. Really! :)
I suck at my “real” blog lately so this will give me something to post…thanks!
(FYI, your link to me in this post and in the P&P post today should be http://www.theopinionatedparent.com…you‘ve got my old one.)
;-)
Finally, someone else who naps in the morning…I get so much crap for this. Love your blog!
Congrats on being a finalist!
P.S. I cry at the Olympics and just about everything else too!
I am with you on flossing. Once I got religion on that, I never went back. My husband likes to say that the only night he didn’t floss was the night our daughter was born.
Feel better!
I am with you on the staying up late thing. But, I am totally missing out on that morning nap thing. Sounds heavenly….
I bought some little chiclet type gum at I-plaza yesterday that was in a little cardboard gum box that read “Everytime you masturbate, God kills a kitten, please think of the kittens.”
I would’ve gotten you some if Iknew you liked chiclets.
(Nicholson house or something like that was the store.)
I’m with you Izzy! I’m up all hours of the night and then I need a nap around 10am. I was gonna feel guilty about admitting that but nah! Sounds like I’m in good company.
And I get all weepy during the Olympics, and have to have a tissue in my hand at all time. Of course I’m cheering for the Canucks, but hey, the spirit is the same.
Tiny chicklets are yummy but so is most candy… Yum!
I hope you’ll enter the mom idol singing contest.
Doin’ it today!
(My link is incorrect - it’s to the old site - I thought I already left a comment but it’s gone…Hmmmm…Some days I hate technology.)
Thanks for tagging me! I had actually just done 6 things because of Amalah’s universal tag, but I added 5 more just for you.
I was in marching band, and marching bands still give me goosebumps. And I cry during the national anthem. I am a night owl, too, but I can’t keep that kind of schedule because I have to get the Little People up and out for school, and Sunny won’t nap so I can’t nap then. But weekends? We just let the kids destroy the house while we sleep in.
I cry during the olympics too. But don’t tell anyone. I have a reputation to uphold.
And already voted, lady. Congrats!
#4, ditto. Feel better, lady.
Marching bands?? Have you not heard them do cover songs?
That may change your opinion…
Those are not too weird! I do take naps too, but my “bun in the oven” makes me do it!
I can vouch for how late you stay up. When I should be in bed, you’re still going strong.
And I have the same reaction to marching bands. Sniff.
I am such a sap during the Olympics! And being pregnant during the past few has only increased my need to have the box of Kleenex next to me. The stories of the Olympians lives get me every time…
Lately I’ve had my fair share of staying up late too - but with the focus on getting my house in order. It’s becoming a bit of an obession. In fact, the company I work for has a great resource to help organize kids rooms. Check it out at organizingmyhome.com. This has been a huge help in my late night quests!
