I agree with you, and those commenters who think that outright banning is the wrong approach. The iron fist parenting style doesn't solve the problem, and all of that. Our culture is partly to blame, yes. Absolutely. How debased do we have to get before we realize that it's affecting our kids, and it always has? It's not about prudishness, but appropriateness; age appropriateness. I agree, too, about having open communication and talking about making good choices. We haven't had the sex talk yet, but we will soon. She's five, and from what I have seen that's old enough for a stripper pole. Sheesh! I’d only be reiterating what has already been said.
