The Great Mommy Blogger Love-In

At the behest of HBM, mistress of the blog Her Bad Mother I am attempting to pay homage to all the mom/women bloggers I enjoy. This is going to be hard. Do you KNOW how many blogs I read? Geez…

Honestly, I’ve been putting this off because I’m afraid I won’t do it well or that I will hurt someone’s feelings. The latter is the thing I am most concerned about. But I’m going to try. Please forgive me if I’ve left you out. It’s not intentional. This is a hell of a task!

But while I’ve got you all here, this would be a great time for you lurkers to step out of the bushes and say hi because how can I read YOU if I don’t know your blog? I don’t want this to just be a big blogger wankfest. I want this to be an opportunity to expand my horizons and meet new blogs. So how about it?

And now, without further ado…

A Beautiful Mess – Kristi rocks! I love her house and her blog and I hope she gets settled soon.

A Mama’s Rant - Always interesting to read, Anne Marie is a writing dynamo! She has more blogs than anyone I know :)

A Mommy Story – I met Christina through a blog exchange and I’m hooked! She’s a great writer as well as sincere and kind beyond words. I can’t wait to meet her at BlogHer!

Adventures in Everyday Life – My first blog friend. She’s cool, funny and has more energy than God.

Another Mommy Moment - J’s Mommy is a sweet lady and she writes some interesting stuff. Her recent post about what you shouldn’t do after age thirty was quite thought-provoking.

Baby on Bored – Don’t let Stef fool you. Under that funny, smart ass exterior, she has a soft, gooey center that is extremely sweet.

bamboo lemur boys are mean to their girls – Robin (aka Ghandi Rules) is unlike any other blogger I know. And I mean that in the best possible way.

Black Belt Mama –BBM is way cool and could probably kick my ass with both hands behind her back!

Blogs Are Stupid – BA is easily the best wordsmith I know. She’s unbelievably talented and always makes me think. I fully expect she will write a bestselling book someday.

Bread Crumbs In The Butter – Chantal is so damned funny and sassy. Love reading her!

Bridgermama –I love her blog and I’m sure she would be the coolest mom in my playgroup if we were in one together.

Chaotic World of Carrcakes – Carolyn is not only sweet and fun to read but an athlete that puts me to shame ten times over!

Chicky Chicky Baby – Going to Mrs. Chicky’s blog is like curling up on her sofa. She gives you that warm, friendly feeling that I love. If you’re not reading her, you’re missing out.

CityMama – She gave me Friday Link Love and I’ve been hooked ever since!

CitySlickerMom – Fun to read and she has great links! Check her out!

Crazy Thoughts – Chelle is just plain sweet and every day she posts a pic of her adorable little girl.

Dawn Isaac –I always enjoy reading Dawn and seeing what’s up with her and her cute little boy.

Domesticator – Pattie is a newer blog friend but I’m really glad I found her. Love her blog!

Finding yourself despite yourself – Fidget is one of those people you feel like you’ve known forever and her writing is great.

Goosie, Mousie, Daddy and Me – Warm and friendly, Julie does this weird thing where she writes exactly what’s on my mind and in my heart. I don’t know how she does it but I love reading her.

Half of the Sky – Wordgirl is a new find for me. Smart and sharp, I love reading her and wish I’d found her sooner.

Her Bad Mother – HBM is soooo smart, really funny and always make you think. I really can’t do her justice here.

Hipstermom – HM is sharp, funny, and of course, very hip!

I am Doing the Best I can – Dawn rocks my world. She’s unbelievably smart and makes me laugh, cry and think, sometimes all at once.

Irreverent Antisocial Intellectual - I followed a link to her, read two posts and decided I like her, especially when she declared me cool enough to be spared when the revolution comes. I love smart chicks.

i-obsess - Very funny and clever, Debbie is a new find. I likey!

Jennster - Jenn is the wildest, craziest mom blogger on the block. She cracks me up every time I read her.

Kvetch Blog – The Orthotic Contessa feels like an old friend. I’m glad I found her. It only took me a month to figure out that her name is a play on the Barefoot Contessa.

LafflerLand – Marcie is the coolest. Her blog is like a well-kept secret and another example of a blogger that I wish was my neighbor.

Life of Pie – I love me some Kittenpie. She is smart, sweet, funny and writes a mean blog! I once joked that her named sounded like that of a sexy Bond girl! I’m so glad I found her.

Mama! Mama! – Mel is so damn funny. I only wish she posted more often :)

Maypapers – Tracey is a new blog friend but I so enjoy her blog. I wish I’d found her sooner!

Mean Girl to the Rescue! – Mrs. Harridan is a funny and smart woman that I always enjoy reading.

MessyBeautiful – Sassy and strong, Cameo is very cool. Best friend to Marcie of Lafflerland, I envy that they live 5 minutes apart! If I had things my way, they’d both be my neighbors.

Midwestern Mommy - Lisa is a new blog friend that I’m really digging!

Mom-101 – Liz is one of those people that is so damn funny you don’t really think of them as being really nice and kind, too. But she is :)

Mom / Ma’am / Me – Nancy is a wonderful blogger that writes things that touch my heart and make me ponder them long afterward. She’s also unbelievably kind and warm. Love her!

Mommy Off the Record – A really sweet new blog friend. I’m so glad I found her and always enjoy her posts. Plus she hates WalMart selling organic food as much as I do.
Mommymatic – Stephanie is like a favorite sweater. Warm and cozy. Her blog is great and her little boy’s videos are too cute for words.

Motherhood Uncensored – Kristen was one of my very first blog friends. Wickedly funny, insightful & talented with a big heart, she’s my bud.

Mrs. Fortune and her Cookie – Mrs. F is so damn funny. When she’s not busy shaping young minds, she should be writing for late night TV. Plus, she has this really cute new baby named Jacob.

My Life In The Kid Zoo – Undercover Angel is a total sweetie with a fun blog. Check her out!

Nonlinear Girl –I enjoy reading NG and now that I know she won’t mind my unmopped floors, I like her even more!

Peanut Tales – Emily is sweet and funny and her birth story was awesome. I love to read her.

Piece of Work – I love reading Amy. She’s cool and friendly and has a very cute little boy that she videos!

Red Stapler – Sue is the bomb. She’s funny and kindhearted and always teaches me something. If you’re not reading her, you should be.

Redneck Mommy – T is a relatively new blog friend but I love reading her. She’s cool, extremely funny and never disappoints. I always picture her as that sexy woman on her blog…lol

Reluctant Housewife – Fabulous and accomplished, RH is the kind of woman you’d be jealous of if she wasn’t so damned nice. And her blog is good, too:)

Riley’s Ramblings – Jess is one of the funniest women bloggers around. If you’re not reading her, you should.

roo the day… – Roo is interesting & unique and she makes a mean costume. I dig reading her blog and wish I’d found her sooner.

Ruthless in the Suburbs – A recent find, Ruth Dynamite’s blog is funny, thoughtful and well-written with a teensy dash of snark. I dig her and you will, too.

Self-Proclaimed Supermom – Rhonda and I originally bonded over our mutual love for The Smiths. I wished she lived next door so I could hang out at her house. She’s awesome :)

So the Fish Said – Beth doesn’t know I exist but that’s okay. I still enjoy reading her funny posts (and my baby boy went ga ga one day when he saw her cute baby girl’s picture)

Something Baby Blue – Jana is a newer blog friend but I feel like I’ve known her much longer. She’s cool and super nice and her blog is fantastic. If you don’t read it, you should.

Soul Gardening – We only recently became acquainted during a blog exchange but I immediately realized TB is a gem. Her writing touches my heart.

Suburban Bliss – The first mom blog I ever read. Melissa is sharp and clever and I always enjoy reading her.

Suburban Turmoil – Lucinda is the kind of cool soccer mom I would be if my kids played soccer. Smart & witty, her storytelling abilities are second to none. I always picture her as that pretty, pouty girl on her blog…lol

Sunshine Scribe – She is funny, kind, smart and I like her as well as her very fine blog! Her Flashback Fridays idea is very cool!

Surrender, Dorothy – Rita is a new blog friend. She’s smart and funny and I’m totally digging.

talking2myself – J is one sassy sister! Always a good read, go check her out.

The Lovely Mrs. Davis – A smart cool mother, indeed. The go-to mom on kiddie music and culture!

Trattoria Breve – Reading Arabella is like sitting down to a favorite meal. I can’t put my finger on what it is exactly but I love reading her.

The Sarcastic Journalist –I jokingly teased her about being a “big important blogger” but really, she’s the most down to earth “big important” person I’ve come across. What can I say? She’s a mom and she rocks.

The Silent K –Krista is hands down the most creative person I know. Go see for yourself all the stuff she’s into. A total inspiration!

Supafine! - Mary Beth is one of those bloggers that personifies cool! Check out her blog if you don’t believe me!

The Wendy Boucher Blog – Wendy is a mom and published author from my hometown. She’s clever and witty and you should check out her book! (PS to Wendy: I have the Barbie meme done. It only took me two weeks. Will post soon :)

Where am I going… And why am I in this handbasket? – Mama Tulip is like your cool, crazy girlfriend from high school. It just makes you feel good to read her.

  34. By Kvetch on May 15, 2006

What a post! Thank you for being so kind. But I have a question…how on earth do you read all those blogs on a regular basis? My blogroll is half as long and I can’t do it and put the laundry away. Oh, I don’t do that, do I? I wish I could just read blogs all day long (actually, I have at times).

  35. By Mom101 on May 15, 2006

THis is so awesome of you. I’ve been wanting to do this but haven’t been able to find the time. Maybe I should just point people here! Your assessments are all spot on (Mommymatic = warm sweater? Perfect.) and there are a few on here that now I’m going to have to start reading. Honored to be a part of the list, Iz. You rock yourself.

  36. By tlwest on May 15, 2006

    Very Cool List!!

  37. By MetroDad on May 15, 2006

  38. By Lisa B on May 15, 2006

Holy Crap! YOu DO read alot of blogs! You are one busy momma. Hope you had a wonderful Mother’s day and thanks for reading my blog. And thanks for saying something nice about it. (It always amazes and delights me that someone would actually WANT to read something I wrote. hehee.)

  39. By Lisa B on May 15, 2006

Oh and I feel like its Christmas… You’ve given us all a bunch of cool new blogs to read!

  40. By Dawn on May 15, 2006

You, frankly, rock my world too

  41. By Ruth Dynamite on May 15, 2006

Izzy, you’re not only brave (I listened to all 5+ minutes of your audio blog), but you’re kind. I’m brand spanking new to this blogging biz, and I’m just figuring out how it all works. And I like it. I really like it. (Not that it interferes with my freelancing, child rearing, housecleaning, and tennis playing, mind you.) Thank you for the plug. Maybe one day (sniff sniff), I’ll make you proud.

  42. By Elizabeth on May 15, 2006

Awww, Izzy! I am so honored to be on the same list as all of these other fine bloggers, and I’m so glad reading my blog makes you feel good.

Forget Technorati and BlogMad, I think you probably just increased everybody’s traffic by a whole heck of a lot. Thanks for welcoming me into your blog community, I’m glad I made you part of mine!

  43. By Suebob on May 15, 2006

    Hi Izzy!

You won my BlogHer contest…so who is going with you? I can’t wait to find out. I tried to send you an Odeo voice message but the send button didn’t look like it worked…

  44. By Dawn Isaac on May 16, 2006

I made it on your post! I am so proud. *blushes* Thanks Izzy. I love reading posts like this because it gives me a chance to find more great blogs to read. And I wanted to tell you that my new domain name should be up and running by Wednesday @ deeizak.com. Think I will leave the one I have now just so people can still find me. And I am still looking for my headset lol. I originally got it so I could chat on Msn Messenger but I rarely use it for that. Mostly I use it at night so I don’t wake up Jeremy while I am watching movies on my computer.

  45. By Mommy Off the Record on May 16, 2006

I am so honored to be on your list. You are one of my blogger role models–yours was one of the first blogs I read and realized, hey, this blog thing might be fun. There are some really great writers and mothers out there. That was you. So thanks, you made my day.

  46. By I_A_I on May 16, 2006

And this is why, Izzy, you will be spared when the revolution comes!
Thanks for the mention, I feel so … special, in a good way.
In all sincerity, you have a fandamntastic blog I enjoy reading - thanks!

  47. By Marcie on May 16, 2006

First…thanks for mentnioning me. I am incredibly touched that you think I have it together enough to write a book! LOL.

Second…wow. So many great writers, women, mothers. I’m going to have to bookmark this list for rainy day. I’d love to sit down and read one right after another, but, I have to keep up the pretense of caring how my house looks and that my kids are dressed and fed. :?)

Great list and great post. Thank you again.

  56. By Lucinda on May 16, 2006

Awww, you’re so sweet… And of course, I look JUST LIKE that cute, pouty picture! ;)

  58. By Kristi on May 18, 2006

I’ll just use this list as my blogroll now. Thanks so much for your kind words. I’ve been pretty much absent from blogging and my presence will still be sparse for a while longer, but I just want to say that I miss you and as soon as the crazy, unending whirlwird of my life is eradicated, I’ll be back!

  59. By Y on May 19, 2006
