Official Blogher Head Count
Who’s going for sure and who’s thinking about it? Please post it here. This inquiring mind wants to know.
As for me, I was going to pass because of breastfeeding but Peebs, now ultra-mobile, seems far less attached to it than I am these days. *choking back a tiny sob* That said, BlogHer is definitely under consideration. This warrants a whole other post wherein I discuss my plethora of well-hidden social anxieties. Can’t wait, can you?
My other question: Is BlogHer just an excuse to meet other bloggers, cut loose and have fun or are you genuinely interested in the “conference” aspect. Just curious.
And finally (I just added this after reading Rhonda’s comment) how many of you would prefer an “East Coast” get-together over going to BlogHer? Again, just curious.
PS: After fielding several requests for graphics and blog headers etc. I decided to gather up some that I worked on for various other projects and as comps and retool them as freebies. Take a look! Wanna HOT looking button for your blog? C’mon! They’re limited edition, for-special-people-only buttons ;-P
PSS: If anyone wants to order stuff from Cafe Press (doesn’t have to be from my store) let me know and I’ll give you a code for $5 off an order of $20 or more.
***Also, don’t forget about Sue’s contest where the winner gets their $250 fee to BlogHer paid :-)***

Too bad we can’t have our own BlogHer conference on the East coast :)
And that would be a negative on my end, I am still too new at this bloggy thing and I am not worthy!
I would LOVE to go. But I’m not.
I am going. I am having my anxiety-riddled moments about the whole thing, but I’ve got the flight and the hotel and I’m registered.
Honestly, to me it’s an excuse to meet other bloggers and have fun sans family. Not so much about the conference part.
I know there’s a mini-blogger-get-together planned by some bloggers whose sites I frequent (Mean Girl and Soul Gardening, among others) and there’s been rumors about some other plans for an East Coast blogger get together, but nothing firm. I’d love to see other bloggers outside of BlogHer if possible.
ps. — Rhonda, you are too worthy!
I just booked it today.
I was just going to post at RED Stapler that since you are posting so much it must mean that you are going!
I hope you do.
And like Nancy, I’m a little nervous about it. I think I might post on it.
Virtual blog t-shirts so people know who the hell we are… I feel like I might be a tagalong or 24th wheel to the different “groups” out there… and then when all is said and done, I’ll be left ALONE.
I’d really like a BlogHer in Michigan, because I can’t afford to fly to the West OR East Coasts, plus hotel and all. And there’s no way I’d win that contest.
Not I, not really interested..I like the cloak and dagger of the blog world!
I’m definitely not going, new to blogging, new baby, etc., but in a perfect world, I would love to! But I kinda agree with Kristen … I would feel like a 24th wheel. I never feel like I fit in to groups honestly, I always feel a bit on the outside, like I’m not one of the cool kids, and this would PROBABLY be just another one of those situations. Nothing that copious amounts of alcohol and drunken karaoke couldn’t cure though. :)
Aw man. I would be so interested in the actual conference. Really.
I can’t go though…
I live in Canada and I don’t have that kind of disposable income. Wahhhhh!
I’m going, but only because Y, of Joy Unexpected, forced me out of my introverted shell. So far I’ve only bought tickets to the cocktail parties, not the conference. The conference is expensive, and I don’t care that much, I guess. I’m pretty nervous about the whole things.
I’ve decided that if I win the Red Stapler contest, I’ll go. We really can’t afford fees, hotel and travel. But my husband found out about it, and told me to enter the contest, and if I win, we’ll find a way to make it work.
Yeah, I’m nervous I’d look like a total loser to everyone and not be able to fit in any groups. Truthfully, I feel that way a lot. We’re an insecure bunch, eh?
WOW those banners rock! You go girl!
How do you DO that?
Gorgeous banners! Would you go to Blogher if you got enough tips?
I am going and I am taking one of you with me…maybe I will have a bake sale for airfare so someone who needs more than their entry fee paid can go. Or maybe I’ll get busy on a t-shirt design. Hm.
I am going. I am even speaking at BlogHer.
But I do worry about my general “tooliness” as Roo puts it.
Like maybe you’ll all scan me and then think “She is SO not funny in real life - and look at the siize of her ass!”
But that will be why I drink.
And I am still ALL for the “East Coast Bizarro Mommybloggers” conference.
Izzy ~
I would love for you to go. I wish there was an east coast gathering as well.
As for your blog skins, they rock?! I love them.
Of course I’m not going, being a HIM and not a HER. BTW, those are some amazing blog headers you created.
An east coast conference would be tempting, but its probably just as well that there isn’t one. I have a habit of saying inappropriate things to people whom I’ve just met. Its a sickness. Its like Tourettes Syndrome without the swearing. Instead I say things like “Wow. You’re a lot shorter then I expected.”
Except when I have at least 2 margaritas in me. Then I’m Faaaabulous!
(BTW, those banners rule!)
Wow — awesome headers, Izzy! You’ve got some serious skills!
Reluctant: Tips? lololol….I’m a sucker. I give everything away. If I actually culled together enough tips to get to BlogHer, I’d shit a brick. Speaking of which, your GGC banner was HOT! I may send some people your way if you’re available.
Rhonda: I think an eastern US get together would ROCK! And you are SO worthy. It doesn’t matter how new you are!
RH: I hear ya! There’s a lot to consider for me, too.
Nancy: You trailblazer! Good for you!
I wouldn’t mind having a meet-up without a conference, too. Yeah, I would be anxious, too. As threatened, I plan to address that in another post…lol
Kristen: Sue is my homegirl! I’ve been posting at Red Stapler almost daily for ages. I rarely commit to anything so I never totally ruled out going but only today did I give it serious consideration (after Peebs dissed the boob again) hence this post. Cool that you’re going. Good for you.
Elizabeth: Is it cool there in the summer? I don’t recommend Florida…for anything lol
Chelle: I hear ya. Keeping things as they are is appealing, as well.
Mrs Fortune: I totally feel ya. That’s how I was last summer. I missed beach week and every other fun summer thing being preggers and then post-preggers. Maybe next year :-)
Krista: I knew someone would be…lol I just get so bored and restless sitting around. It would have to be really good stuff to hold my attention.
POW: You live in CA, right? That’s cool. Not such a big, scary deal that way. Maybe I’ll see you there :-)
Christina: I totally feel the same way. If only I didn’t like any of you. Then it would be a piece of cake :-)
Mrs. Chicky: Oh please! Girl, you couldn’t be any worse than me!
Dawn: Dude…you’re SPEAKING? You’re like a rock star! And zero tooliness, I’m sure :-)
And thanks to all for the props. I aims to please ;-)
Sue: Very cool and generous plan you have devised. I’d hoard my bonus and buy chocolate with it :-)
How far are you from San Jose anyway?
A small group of us from all over are meeting up at a location in a southeastern city for a long weekend in June … anyone who wants to meet up with us is welcome, Email arabella@trattoriabreve.com for details.
As for BlogHer, I don’t feel serious enough about my blog to spend that sort of cash, but it’s a “someday” thing for me. Maybe next year.
Mrs. Harridan: Now you’re talkin! That’s really cool. I’m in the southeast so depending on the date (my son’s 1st b-day is in June) I could totally go with relative ease.
Yes, please e-mail me if you’re interested! $250 can buy you a lot of drinks!
I am still contemplating a trip to Blogher, mostly depends on how much money I can collect in the next month or so and if it is still an option at that time….money rules my life it seems, ack!

I’m going. NOW it’s a party.
Dawn, I will have an ass-off with you there.
And Mrs. Fortune, don’t you know by now that none of us are cool? Cool people don’t blog. They’re too busy actually DOING things to sit down and write.
Mrs. Mom, Dawn, get out the rulers. I will join the ass off and if I don’t win, the first round of nachos is on me.
The best part is that my incredibly huge ass is all mine! I have never even had implants. Just imagine how jealous all those small butted women are
I’m too anti-social to go to something like that. Really… no, seriously, I am. ;o)
I also was hoping to start a race riot in my session - I promised Sarcastic Journalist I would try.
So that will be fun.
Yeah, Chicky - another one of the “inappropriate things sayer” - Right here.
I’m up for the East coast BlogHer conference. Unfortunately, I didn’t make enough money dancing on bars last weekend to fly out to the West coast.
Nice banners! I love smart and creative people!
Not going to Blogher, as if anyone would notice one way or the other. But YOU should go! Look at your following!
Okay, Izzy, I’m breaking out of lurk mode to confess that you’ve found me out:
“My other question: Is BlogHer just an excuse to meet other bloggers, cut loose and have fun or are you genuinely interested in the “conference” aspect. Just curious.”
Meeting other bloggers, adult beverages AND karaoke were indeed the secret of the event for moi. Until I read about ya’ll’s ass-off. Now I have a new reason for working on this thang. Irresistible!
I know everyone cannot make it out here and it kills me. Here are a coupla things we’re doing to make it easier: roomshares, rideshares, childcare. If you all plan a meetup in June on the right coast, please email me about it or come blog it in our forums? Tons of folks would be interested.
And we’ve sworn to bring BlogHer east in 2007…A commitment we’ll deliver on. The question for me is where?
